Root Canals

When the nerve tissue in a tooth is infected or diseased, a root canal is performed to save the tooth.

During this procedure we remove as much of the soft tissue from inside the tooth as possible mechanically and then chemically to disinfect the interior of the root system.

Then a permanent seal is placed down the roots to block leakage into the tooth from the root tip or bacterial invasion from the top, from the crown down.

After a root canal a crown must be placed to reinforce and protect the tooth.
