The latest research from 2009 to 2014 indicate that periodontal disease if untreated can cause many problems in a person's health.  Simply brushing twice per day as compared to once a day can reduce one's heart attack risk!

The American Heart Association states there is "level A evidence" associating arterial disease that can lead to strokes and heart attacks with the chronic infections seen in periodontitis, or gum disease. (Amy Doneen, author of You Can Beat the Heart Attack Gene.)

Health Benefits

Oral care is one easy way to prevent heart attacks and stroke.

Evidence also shows that healthy teeth and gums can prevent diabetes.

And a healthy mouth is its own reward!

Meet Dr. Brazeau

Dr. Steven Brazeau grew up on the Kitsap Peninsula.  He studied Biochemistry and Dentistry at the University of Washington from 1970 to 1978.  After being a community dentist in a general private practice in Carnation, Washington, he and his family of 5 travelled to Costa Rica and the Dominican Republic to first learn Spanish and then to serve as medical-dental missionaries.  "It was a privilege to be able to help people who had no access to care."

They returned to Yakima in 1993.  He was a staff dentist at the Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic for a few years before he  went into private practice.  "What I like best about my work is helping my patients to have better, healthier lives."

Personal interests include short-term medical-dental missions, camping, hunting, 4-wheeling and anything related to grandchildren.
